This position is for one of our investee company (Grand Kakao Indonesia) located in Makassar.

About the Company:

At Grand Kakao Indonesia, we are passionate about cocoa. Together with our operating partner, we process cocoa beans into semi-finished cocoa products in a manufacturing plant which has been in operations since 2008.

We are a business-to-business company, serving the entire food sector.

About the Role:

We are searching for an experienced Sales Team Lead that can help keep this department running by leveraging their own sales skills and leading a motivated Sales Team. It is to achieve company goals through careful preparation, setting sales goals, analysing performance data and forecasting.

He / She must have good understanding of food industry trends and market updates in the overseas & Indonesian food industries. Extensive knowledge of the National and International B2B sales experience and market – food service, food retail, etc.

To be successful as a sales lead, you should have strong sales skills, business acumen, and commercial knowledge are required. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service abilities. Outstanding leadership ability. Time management, strategic planning, and organizational abilities are required.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Superb leadership ability / effectively lead the complete sales & Sales Team Lead activities.
  2. Generate leads, and establish and nurture client relationships.
  3. Meet with potential clients and grow long-lasting relationships that address their needs.
  4. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
  5. Develop new customers, new products, and new markets; maximize volumes, sales margins, and customer profitability.
  6. Create & determine the best route-to-market strategy (direct or indirect) based on end-user profiles& needs.
  7. Initiate, create & support marketing/brand-building activities, both, independently & in collaboration with distributors.
  8. Collaborate with a multifunctional team: manufacturing team, finance, HR & GA and marketing to deliver the best customers’ experience.
  9. Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly sales forecasts and budgets; monitor sales volume and margin against forecasts to managers, and supply chains and identify problems and provide solutions.
  10. Produce timely and accurate reports of the business activities.


  1. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in sales management, or a related field may be advantageous.
  2. Experience in sales is necessary, proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing.
  3. Fluent in English & Bahasa, both written & spoken.
  4. Fluency in Mandarin, both written and spoken, will be preferable.
  5. Five or more years of experience in managing Sales in a corporate setting.
  6. Ready to travel (at least 60% of the time).
  7. Flexibility to adapt and respond quickly to changing work situations and environments.
